Georgia Power: The Red Cockaded Woodpecker
Longleaf pine forests once covered 90 million acres across the U.S. The pines were home to many native species, like the red cockaded woodpecker. But over time, 85 million of those acres became lumber, as their homes built ours. Georgia Power has been working for decades to restore the devastated longleaf pine so Georgia can welcome back the endangered species that call it home.
This animation was created to spread awareness of Georgia Power’s Longleaf Pine Initiative in Georgia.
